Remember when “Google it” was the default answer to everything? Well, times are changing—fast. According to Business Insider, even Google https://www.google.com/ is sweating over ChatGPT https://chatgpt.com/ and other AI engines stealing a slice of its search pie. (And you know it’s serious when Google breaks a sweat.)

In May 2025, Apple’s Eddy Cue dropped a bombshell in court: Safari searches via Google actually declined for the first time ever. Why? Because users are turning to AI engines like ChatGPT to get instant, snackable answers.

Who wants ten blue links when you can get the answer wrapped up like a perfect pitch deck?

Google says, “Relax, searches are still up on other platforms.” But here’s the marketing tea: their paid clicks grew only 2%—the slowest ever. That’s like launching a campaign and getting crickets instead of conversions. Yikes.

Let’s make it spicy—what do you think?

Will ChatGPT and friends take over the search kingdom, or is Google just warming up for its next act?
